I really miss Jack Bauer. Hopefully he’ll be back on my giant screen in my living room soon. In the mean time he interrogates Santa Claus.
You can see that Jack is getting soft. Santa Claus has always stood up to a lot of scrutiny. We all know that one day the Santa Claus Sex Scandel will hit, but I expect Ms. Claus will stay by his side. Jack – I was hoping for better from you on this one.
The first night of 24 Season 7 went better than expected. I’m looking forward to tonight’s “surprises”. In the mean time, here’s an assassin joke that puts it all in perspective.
Job Opening
The FBI had a job opening for an assassin. After all the background checks, interviews and testing were done, there were three finalists; two men and a woman.
For the final test, the FBI agents took one of the men to a large metal door and handed him a gun. "We must know that you will follow your instructions no matter what the circumstances. Inside the room you will find your wife sitting in a chair…….Kill Her!"
The man said, "You can’t be serious. I could never shoot my wife." The agent said, "Then you’re not the right man for this job. Take your wife and go home."
The second man was given the same instructions. he took the gun and went into the room. All was quiet for about 5 minutes. The man came out with tears in his eyes, "I tried, but I can’t kill my wife." The agent said, You don’t have what it takes. Take your wife home."
Finally, it was the woman’s turn. She was given the same instructions – to kill her husband. She took the gun and went into the room. Shots were heard, one after another. They heard screaming, crashing and banging on the walls.
After a few minutes all was quiet. The door opened slowly and there stood the woman, wiping the sweat from her brow. "This gun is loaded with blanks," she said. "I had to beat him to death with the chair."
MORAL: Women are crazy. Don’t mess with them.
Jack Bauer would be proud. Don’t underestimate Renee Walker.
My partner Jason pointed me to the announcement that Jack Bauer gets early start with "24" prequel. I have high hopes for this season given how much last season sucked (until the last four episodes.) It’s either going to be fantastic or be over. Joel Surnow has apparently already voted with his feet, so this one will be high risk / high reward.
For all you 24 fans out there, my now excruciatingly long time friend and third Feld Technologies employee Shawn Broderick (aka Mr. Doody) has a brilliant photo comparison up on his blog. In fact, it’s so brilliant I’ll just steal it and post it here.
I’ll try to limit my overwhelmingly cynical political points of view to my Twitter stream, but I doubt I’ll be successful. Maybe Jack Bauer will be out of jail in time help us all.
While terrorists couldn’t seem to bring down Jack Bauer, the writer’s strike seems to have nailed him. Oh well – at least there’s a back to the future version of 24 titled 24: The Unaired 1994 Pilot that demonstrates an excellent use of AOL 3.0.
Even though I thought Season 6 of 24 was a dud, I am still devastated by the news that 24 is on hold this season due to the writers strike. I guess Kiefer Sutherland can go do his jail time now.

April 23, 2007. Another 24 fanatic just came in my office and announced that to me. Unfortunately I agree. I watched it last night with Amy, Jason, David, and Jill and we all had that ho-hum look on our face when it ended. Oh well – it’s rare that a show makes it six years anyway before it loses it. At least GeekSugar has great pictures of Chloe.
