I found your blog through her Twitter feed. She posted your vulnerability post. You are both a great inspiration.

Thank you for posting this video and the post yesterday. I’ve been on a similar path over the last 6 months or so – suddently realizing a lifetime of “numbing vulnerability” as Brene put it, instead of focusing inward and embracing what’s in there.

Becoming an entrepreneur for the first time last year made me even more aware of my inability to be vulnerable. While building a company, everything is completely fluid, you have little control, there’s always something more to be done, and no perfect path. Hell, even Warren Buffett said buying Berkshire Hathaway may have been a mistake because it slowed his progress early on.

For anyone on a similar path (or everyone for that matter), I suggest the book “A Return to Love.” It’s somewhat based on Christianity, but I’m not religious and found the book incredible.

Wow, after watching that video I bought her book “The Gifts of Imperfection”. I understood what she spoke about but putting it into practice will be a much more difficult challenge. Thanks for always providing inspiration Brad.

Wow, that was really good, particularly her closing. Loved the line about being grateful, and the idea of “I am enough.” Great thing to share with my teenagers. Thanks for posting that, Brad.

Your timing couldn’t be more perfect. I needed a reminder of just how important it is to be vulnerable and open. I loved her closing statements, in particular:

“I’m just so grateful, because to feel this vulnerable means I’m alive.”
