Congratulations Brad on the launch of Startup Revolution! Am looking forward to each of the books.

I’m really looking forward to reading these books and seeing how the revolution plays out.

I really hope the books have a decent amount of content related to perseverance. Long ago I taught high school at two different schools. One would always kick the year off with a motivational speaker and everyone would get all fired up for the year. The other had no motivational speaker, but made small, gradual changes and improvements year after year. Easy to guess which one was the consistent success.

Same with startups and, for that matter, revolutions of any kind. Big bangs are more exciting for communities (especially for folks not in the trenches like govt. officials), and the beginning of things is more tolerable for spouses, board members, and other involved parties. The grind is the tough and less exciting part, but the grind is where the real revolution happens imho.

Any good, informed advice about how to make it through that (and indeed thrive through it) will be welcome!

Can a “radical transformation of our society from a hierarchy to a network” be made to happen within a 19th Century industrial-hierarchical architecture for investment in enterprise? Does your thinking extend to the ways in which we can also radically transform how we direct investment within the new networked economy?

Hmm…I love ya Brad…but I always thought entrepreneurs should own entrepreneur communities, as this is a belief you yourself instilled into us.

Yet, it is all venture capitalists, government, & incubators owning & starting these communities. It always turns into a self-motivated slaughter house, everyone starts accusing everyone of being motivated by potential deal flow. No entrepreneur wants to join these communities, because too many people use it as a means to collect data, and cherry pick deals.

I know this isn’t your intention, you’re a great person, but this is the way it will be perceived….because you are a VC, my friend. And while I respect your entrepreneurial spirit and drive in needing to be creative, needing to start your own things, the hard fact remains…that you’ve already crossed the table. It will only spread hate, more then it will help.

Letting you down easy…and now giving you a (hug).
