So how come you don’t have a more prominent protect against SOPA and PIPA, such as Fred Wilson does?

Seriously? I suppose every VC is supposed to mount an identical protest?

James – I’m not sure what you mean. My site is redirecting to http://sopastrike.com/strike for the day.

I posted this shortly after midnight Eastern time. You might have set your redirect to begin after I posted.

It seems to be that the organizational capital that has been built up should also be used for other causes, such as software patents and immigration reform.

Yeah – I think it was supposed to start at midnight Eastern but I have no idea how the time zone stuff on the server was set so it might have missed by a few hours. And I agree – I think the dynamics today where fascinating and instructive.

That one is easy — 99 percent of the time, your server is set to whatever time zone the server is physically located in. My recollection is that you use a hosting company in Colorado, so that would be the time zone.

Today demonstrated that the Internet websites have a lot of power. It will be interesting to see how traditional media reacts. They could have a lot of power. Imagine if a good chunk of them ran articles and editorials all at the same time. I suspect they will not do it because in many of them, there is a “separation between church and state” in that editorial is supposed to independent from the business department.

What is not clear is who brokers a compromise. The Internet sites that are not total zealots agree that piracy is a problem. So what is a reasonable compromise, and who brokers it? Absent White House involvement, I don’t see a logical person to be the broker. There is no one that both traditional media and the Internet sites totally respect.

Too funny! i made a small artistic offering of my own, I hope it helps or is at least as entertaining as yours!

My name is Jennifer, and I think that SOPA is a terrible idea, puts the very fabric of our free speech in jeopardy, and we should do everything we feel we can to fight it. Currently, I have started a SOPA protest organization called Operation Boobies For Freedom, and so far, we have a web presence on Facebook, YouTube, and Google+.

I would love it if any of you who enjoyed this song stopped in to see me at the above places and checked out my video. If you like it, you can feel free to repost it anywhere you like, or reproduce it in any manner, just so long as you tell me where it’s going and try to keep my name on it. Any help is better than nothing. If nothing else, please repost the YouTube video or link to the Facebook, any exposure would be great.

Thanks in advance for your help, I hope that if enough of us stick together and make enough noise, we can beat this thing!
