Where I Sleep

I love living in Boulder.  But, I travel a lot.  And I like that also, especially when Amy comes with me.  I’m in Boston today for TechStars for a Day and then doing a bunch of stuff at MIT tomorrow.  Amy came with me and is doing her own thing at Wellesley.

I often get asked how much time I spend on the road versus at home.  I decided to track it – along with several other things (miles run, books read, and airplane flights) for 2009.  Following is where I have slept so far this year as of 3/10/09.

Boulder is obviously the big winner so far, but expect a lot more nights in Seattle, San Fran, LA, and Boston.  And probably a few in Chicago and New York.  I’m using Daytum to track this – it’s intensely cool.  I just wish it knew how to import data.

Speaking of 'MIT Stuff' (and 'fun with numbers' from a couple of days ago), check out this cleverness: http://collegeadmissionforum.blogspot.com/2009/03... (from a long-time lurker/subscriber)

It'd be great if Daytum could also calculate the carbon emissions all that travel emits.

You may want to also try Swivel.com for tracking your data – I think that they will let you upload/import any pre-existing data points you may have…

Alaska does not even register? I thought it was your home away from home.

Hey Brad, Please let us know when you're coming to Chicago for any events. We'd definitely make time to attend.

    Will do.

Glad to see someone else appreciating Daytum! Swivel has some good ideas, but they just don't have the aesthetics down the way Daytum does. Unfortunately, Daytum's inability to handle feeds has led to me not updating it very often, but I hope to return to it once they've beefed up the features…

[...] Found daytum thanks to Brad Feld. It tracks anything you can count – seems relatively pointless on the surface, but I love [...]

    Hello Brad,
Thanks for giving information about Daytum. It will help me I think. But according to Dan it has some problem regarding feeds. I think it won't make much problem for me. Let me check.

I have kind of fallen in love with Daytum. It's made for ordinary users (like me). I'm always amazed seeing what other people are doing during the day.
