Boulder Startup Exec Email List

Are you a VP or C-level exec at a Boulder (or Denver) based startup?  Eric Marcoullier, the CEO of Gnip has created a Boulder Startup Exec Email ListIt’s open to people that fit the following criteria.

  1. Funded company (at least some angel financing)
  2. VPs and C-level folks
  3. Any vertical market (not just tech / Internet)

Eric moved to Boulder from San Francisco last month and is getting deep in the startup scene here.  He promises that VCs will not be invited to participate in this list – I tried and was solidly rejected.

While the criteria don’t include “profitable companies that never received any financing”, I’d encourage anyone that is self-funded / bootstrapped that is generating over $500k of revenue a year to get involved also.

    Thanks for the promotion, Brad. To expand on your last point, the criteria is a bit of a sliding scale. We'll happily open the list to the founders of two-person company with some angel investment or the execs of a 15-person company who have successfully bootstrapped.

    We're just trying to keep the signal to noise ratio very high and that requires a bit of homogeneity in the group. Startups with some outside validation (either investment or revenue) is enough to start contributing. Looking forward to hearing from folks.

      Newsflash: MyBlogLog was a fluke that was run and coded by your mate, all you did was tag along and spam a few people. You don't have anything to add to a discussion regarding business other than 'noise'. So that signal to noise ratio you talk about will be 100% noise on a mailing list run by you.

    Seems like the point of metrics like these is to motivate and focus. We built our app around scorecards with 3 metrics and a simple up / down + green / red indicator. Red (or you suck) is actually pretty motivational. Especially if it is shared. It is only motivational if you know what to do to fix it or at least a theory to test. The real goal of metrics is to unleash people’s creativity and intuition focused around a few probably imperfect numbers. Green is good.
