My experience is that an uncertain economy means it's not any more risky for someone with a good idea to go into business for him/herself as it is to try to find a job in their field - in fact, a down economy may even push a person into trying to come up with such entrepreneurial-minded ideas.

I'd imagine a discussion focusing on how investors are the lines connecting the dots between this particular flavor of risk-taking and the impact the current economy may have on chances for success would be very interesting indeed. Or the glue. We know Brad likes glue. I just don't know about gluing dots together.

My gut sense is that it has to be a lot like building new office space, an activity that often happens in down markets so that the space will be available when the market rebounds and companies are growing & looking for room to expand. The lead time it takes to build office towers means you always are in construction mode long before it's needed.

Will this be recorded/available for those of us that can't make it? As an entrepreneur of a startup that is currently in growth & fundraising mode, I'd like to see how the discussion goes.
