Perhaps I'm having a paranoia moment after reading the Smith article, but at times like these I remember that powerful tyrannies have begun with quite a bit less power. For example, I have read that when the General Secretary position was open back in the early days of Lenin and Stalin, nobody wanted it because it seemed so unglamorous. However, Stalin volunteered because he knew it would give him access to information on party members. He took that and ran with it.

It doesn't take a lot of imagination to see that the Department of Homeland Security itself, or one of its powerful parts such as TSA, could be parlayed into something quite useful to one with despotic aspirations.

TSA sucks, no doubt about it. but hey, obviously we need DHS and TSA to protect ourselves from bin laden, that wily cave dweller who can get past the most powerful air defense in the history of the known universe at any moment.

9/11 truth ends the TSA, as well as a bunch of other stuff that no one wants (dhs, war in iraq, war in afghanistan, potential war in iran, unconstitutional laws, hyperinflation, rethuglicans, dumbocrats, etc). the truth sets us free.
