Intense Debate on TWiT
Intense Debate founder Jon Fox is a huge Leo Laporte / TWiT fan so it’s super cool that he ended up on net@night with Amber MacArthur talking to Amber and Leo about Intense Debate’s commenting system. The interview with Jon and Intense Debate CEO Tom Keller is about halfway through the show.
I’ve been really pleased with the progress Jon, Tom, and team have made with Intense Debate. A year ago when Intense Debate showed up at TechStars, Jon and his co-founder Isaac had an idea for an online consumer debating site. This morphed into the comment replacement system that is Intense Debate. I’ve long talked about comments being the dark matter of the blogosphere; Intense Debate helps to make them (and the ensuing conversations) much more relevant and useful.
Features are coming fast and furiously. Last week Intense Debate integrated with Lijit (so you can now include your comments in your Lijit search profile) and the reply by email feature is now out – I’ve been using it for about 60 days and it’s awesome. Look for Twitter integration this week along with maybe another magic special thing depending on how many all nighters Jon pulls.

I hadn't seen Intense Debate around for awhile…I used it last year, but it really was tough at the time, I had a lot of problems.
Glad to see it's going good, I'd like to give it a shot again maybe.

Just an update, our IntenseDebate/Twitter integration was rolled out last night. Now when you comment using IntenseDebate, you can opt to have a notification sent via Twitter. You can learn more at http://IntenseDebate.com/blog

Yes, excellent commenting system! I'm much more likely to make my thoughts known on a site that uses ID than any other commenting system… It's easy to use and creates a much prettier organizational display of all posting replies. Kudos ID!!!!
Glad you posted this – Disqus has been getting a lot more VC cheerleader love recently
. I'd heard of Intense Debate but forgotten – I recently setup Disqus with my blog but haven't been completely thrilled.
Intense Debate seems to be doing more to deliver on true data portability than Disqus currently is, which will do a lot to win my blogs. Intense Debate also supports OpenID (Disqus does too though it has issues).

I've had IntenseDebate on my blog for a while and I like it a lot. But, I also like the fact that when I leave comments on other blogs that use IntenseDebate, I can see a history of my comments on my InstenseDebate profile.
For those blogs that aren't using IntenseDebate, I'd love to have an IntenseDebate browser add-in that I could use to add my comments to my IntenseDebate profile (comment history) with the click of a button.
Indeed Bad, i confirm they made strong progress since last year when i fist installed it and then uninstalled. now its back on my blog and i am happy with it
I am getting more and more intriged to use intense debate. I wonder if most of the exploits has been corrected.
