Tim – give the Support section of their site a try - http://www.memeo.com/autobackup_1.php. If you don’t get your problem solved that way, drop me an email (brad@feld.com) and I’ll get you connected directly with support.
Every time that I turn on my computer, I get the Memeo auto backup startup page. Can I stop this from coming up?

Ok... So perhaps now they have the time and money to fix some problems... Like Memeo Autobackup failing to copy files, or Memeo Autosync simply ignoring the mapped drives after a while and only restart copying to those drives if the PC is rebooted.

I thought these were fixed and I installed both Memeo Autosync and Memeo Autobackup on a fresh Windows Vista reinstall, thinking of having my files being nicely copied to my Windows Home Server box - no such luck.

Both software were removed after 12 hours because neither would keep copying things without a reboot now and then. Exactly the same thing I saw happening on a Windows XP machine when I got a copy of Memeo software at Showstoppers during the CES 2007.

Brad, Interesting - I didn't know you'd invested in Memeo. Actually, I just did a review of the product up on my Network World blog. http://www.networkworld.com/community/node/23575

What I really appreciate about this product is how Memeo re-thought the problem of backup software from the user's perspective and came up with a much better (and simpler) mouse trap. Kudos. I think you made a smart investment.
Have been using memeo on an XP box and my MacBook Pro for about a year. The interface has gotten a lot better for XP. I haven't tried the new Mac software yet, and have just been using an rsync script. This is all connected to a Buffalo LinkStation box that I've been very happy with for cheap NAS.

Mauricio - drop me an email (brad@feld.com) - I know the Memeo guys would be interested in troubleshooting your Vista + Home Server issues. I've occasionally seen issues on sync appearing to "stall" on network drives. We've determined it's a function of my network / VPN config which will get fixed in the next version. For the time being, the solution seems to be clicking on "Verify Sync" for the specific sync plan - this should restart it without a need for a reboot. The next version will have a specific "Restart" button / option that's more obvious.

I haven't seen this problem on Vista with Autobackup so your config would be very useful to see.

Hi Brad -- thank you for the vote of confidence. We are so excited to have Foundry Group's backing. We are growing stronger everyday :-)

Hi Mauricio -- please contact me (chris at memeo dot com). We are very interested in understanding and resolving any issues that you have encountered. We have made significant progress in improving our software since CES last year. But more work lies ahead. We will continue to invest in making our products more and more robust and reliable. Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

Best regards,
I have been using Memeo for at least 18 months and it works great. I am glad to hear that you made an invest and it should mean that the product should get even better.

It looks very neat. But it doesn't solve the one big problem I have... MP3 libraries scattered over 4 machines, some files with better tags. Some songs duplicated, some songs the same filename but better quality... and a manual process to sort out what I want as the master!
Now if they could create an add-on to do that sort of data management it would rock!

Dear OffBeatMammal,

The scattered problem as you have described is problematic with both music and photos due to high growth and organic nature. We agree and we are developing software to address both of these issues.
