I love natural and organic stuff. It just gets a little silly some times. This was called "satire" – poking a little fun at the reality that we all know and love in Boulder. It was not a "serious claim" of any sort – just humor.

Speak for yourself. Are you seriously claiming that the movement towards natural and organic products is entirely bogus? That's a pretty outrageous claim.

I *love* it. When I used to live in Denver, I was constantly talking about how good the meat from Whole Foods was, and constantly complaining about the fact that I couldn't buy Coke or a bag of Doritos there.

Maybe instead of "other stuff," we call it "processed stuff?" Or is that too provocative?

Recent Boulder moment while in line at Snarfs. One Boulder pompous bike dude in bright tight fitting outfit with helmet still on to another, "Is the food here 'all natural' or is it crap?" Other bike dude who despite obnoxious outfit seems to get it, "I don't know but its good."

There is a place for other stuff, it's called "Safeway."

And "Whole Paycheck" has much more edible food than health food stores of days gone by. Boulderites of yore can all sing a few lines from "I wanna work at Alfalfa's."

I was recently in NYC and saw the Whole Foods on 14th Street. It's clearly about more than just health food these days; that store was absolutely packed and there was a line to get to a cash register and they had like 54 checkout stands!
