Yes – I Know My Blog Is Painfully Slow

Comments (5)

I received the following the other day from Micah Baldwin, who is now running business development at Lijit (and is a deliciously hysterical person when he wants to make a point.)

If I hear “Tell Brad his blog loads way too slowly” one more time (it has now surpassed “Are you too legit to quit”) I will shove a hot stake into my eye. Just thought you would like to know that you will be the cause of my soon to be eye-patch.

Since this is the 4,271st time I’ve heard this in the last 173 days, I promise I will do my best to have some performance improvements implemented by 2008.

Feature bloat? A what point did your blog become more like Office 2007 then Google Apps?

    Brad,
What is ironic about that is that he uses your blog as an example in his Lijit pitch, perhaps that is where the influx of those statements are coming. I have seen him use it in an intro to AOL and he used it with my company (Mixx.com) the other day.

And yes, he can be deliciously hilarious when he wants to be, not to mention other things when he wants to be ;-). but we love him nonetheless!

Will, I tried to use my own blog as an example, but since it currently is only be searched by my mom for “when are you going to get a girlfriend,” I figured it didnt carry as much punch.

It is going to take a lot more than that to carry more “punch” ;-).

If you're on a shared host, try a VPS like Slicehost, has worked wonder for my smaller sites with lots of javascript add-ons.
