Wii and Xbox 360 Games

I’m looking for a handful of the "best" Wii and Xbox 360 games for my super gaming rig in Keystone.  Any suggestions?

I don't have an xbox, but I'd imagine you'd want Halo 3 and guitar hero 3 for that. Also Madden 08. For the wii, go with Tiger Woods golf, Metroid Prime: Corruption, Super Mario Galaxy, and of course wii sports

We've got a PS3 at our house in Eldo (although it mostly serves as a DVD player.) We also have a PS2 in Keystone so PS2 and PS3 recommendations are welcome.

for wii – mario galaxy and wario ware. for 360 – the orange box. You will find the puzzle game system of Portal intriguing.

I'm a PC gamer but BioShock is the way to go! I just got it and it really exceeded my expectations. The game play is very different from most other games and the graphics are superb! It's an awesome game: if your in to shooters, buy it. Also, Halo 3 is great on the 360 and the Orange Box is outstanding (both for PC and the 360)!

Bioshock is a great game and given your fondness for Atlas Shrugged, I'm sure you'll find the O-ist veneer a hoot. If you like shooters, Gears of War is still an amazing ride, even a year later. Same for Burnout if you like racing games — such an intense sense of speed.

On the Wii front, there are few non-first-party games that are worth buying. It's the downside of Nintendo's platform. And currently, Mario Galaxy is great, but no Mario 64, and Zelda is great, but so freakin' involved. Sadly, Wii sports is what I break out with family and then I go play games on the 360.

x.360: must have at least a look at 'bioshock'. easily the best (read: most disturbing/unsettling/creepy & brilliant) production design of any representational game to date. also obligatory: 'portal', which you can only get as part of 'the orange box' (from the half-life folks). one of the rare moments when a u.s.-initiated game defines a new genre; also has the most subversive sense of humor in a long time. will warp the parts of the brain that do spatial reasoning.

Awesome. Thanks everyone. I just exercised some poor impulse control and bought $650 worth of games and shit for my Xbox 360 and Wii.

    What, no Playstation 3?

I'm all about the Rock Band – it's set up and happy. Fortunately the Xbox Guitar Hero Guitars work with it so I've got a couple.

If you're a fan of old school arcade shooters (of the Asteroids / Galaga genre) I'd certainly recommend Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved available through the XBox Live Arcade on the 360.

For the Xbox, pick up Project Gotham Racing 4 (PGR4). It's a great car racing game that's a good alternative for people who don't like the "kill anything that moves" kind of games.

My 7-year-old daughter is addicted to Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games on Wii. I like the fact that she jumps around and laughs non-stop (and maybe gets a bit o' exercise on a bitter cold, "inside" day). The equalizers built into the game make sure that size and relative maturity isn't much of an advantage.
