Rock Band Rocks

Comments (4)

My affection for the amazing games from the gang at Harmonix crosses several boundaries, including the well revered financial one.  As an angel investor in Harmonix, I bow down and worship before my entrepreneurial rock gods.

I’ve been waiting patiently anxiously for Harmonix’s new game "Rock Band" (preorder your copy on Amazon: Rock Band – Xbox 360 or Rock Band – PS 3 and help feed this blogger.)

I’ve seen the Youtube videos and the demo reel.  But the real test was the Boston Globe review which was printed today at Rock Band passes test with real musicians – and amateursThey should have hired me to write the headline – it would have been "Rock Band Rocks."

November 20th is almost here.  Amy is going to thank me for that PS 3 I bought recently.  And – no Ross – I still can’t get you a prerelease copy.  You’ll just have to wait.

Well blow my middle aged mind why dontcha!? My 16 year old, Kevin, borrowed the current version of this from a friend Saturday and he and 2 of my other boys; Dustin (15), and Colin (5), played ALL DAY Saturday taking turns.

Three things worth pointing out: 1) ALL three of the boys enjoyed playing and/or watching it be played for hours, 2) Kevin is an excellent guitar player and thoroughly enjoyed jamming on this, 3) and perhaps most important of all my wife, Kathy, who wasn't feeling well Saturday actually enjoyed listening to the rock-n-roll!

Gonna be a smash hit Brad and it'll be even bigger when they come out with a version designed to be played in bars.

Not only is Rock Band going to be a huge hit, the folks at Harmonix just released an ipod game called Phase that is sort of like Guitar Hero for your ipod. It is like digital crack.

Now how did you know I was going to ask again Brad, is it because of the 50 other times I've asked (begged)! :-)

I'm not going to pre-buy only because I just got the dreaded Red Ring of Death on my 360. I will get Rock Band the day I get back my 360.

Between that and working for a new startup, I might not have time to sleep.
