Rock Band Is Almost Here

Comments (3)

Any day now.  The first detailed reviews are out – Ben Kuchera has a great one up on Ars Technica subtitled I don’t want to be a guitar hero, I want to be in a bandI hope mine shows up before Thursday so I can spend Thanksgiving playing in my new Keystone band.  A new Mac, Rock Band, and a Kindle – all kinds of fun toys to play with.

I did some of my first Guitar Heroing recently and it was very fun. Supposedly Rock Band is from the original developers of GH… it's looking to be the perfect party game. They're going to need to pack in a 6pack with the instruments if they're going to get me to sing though.

Didn't realize you really have a band brad?! You should post yuor gig schedule so I can catch it on my next trip to denver!

I was distraught when I first saw the button guitar for guitar hero. while fun, it didn't teach kids anything much about music, or train them how to make chords, etc…I'm glad someone took it to the next level and that rockband seems to use a real guitar… maybe we'll discover another hendirx or dylan on utube in a few years thanks to rockband… cool.

We bought GH3 for our house last week. The first 20 minutes were very frustrating — it's good we don't have kids — but then I started to get the hang of it. I'm about 1/5 of the way through Medium, having completed Easy, but am being blocked by Morello.

I might just have to buy Rock Band so we can have two guitars in the house. That's how I'll justify it.
