I see what you're saying, but in all honestly it looks like Isaac was trying to help. Saying they "pounced" on you is a little misleading IMO.

Why didn't you just delete the comment?

@Robert - let's see. I gave Intense Debate my email address when I signed up. Hours later they are commenting on a completely unrelated post asking why Intense Debate wasn't running. They got in my spave for their own benefit. That is NOT helping me - that is helping them.

Yeah - that's pouncing. They could easily have sent me an email.

And then they never even responded to my email to them asking about this incident.

Not what I consider user friendly. Sorry if you disagree.

Intense Debate is to Disqus as Tech Stars is to Y Combinator, a lame ripoff. The only difference is that while Tech Stars stole the application, Intense Debate stole code.

So far I find Lijit.com the most useful of the blogging tools companies you are "invested" in, given that Feedburner was sold. While I agree that organizing comments is a big opportunity I don't yet see where Intense Debate is much of a step forward. Also, with all the blog widgets and tools now out there I think people are getting more suspect about adding them to their blogs.

I like it, but I might be biased :-)

I might Josh on an entrepreneur forum a few years ago and found out he used to live a couple miles away from me. It was at that time that he was also launching Intense Debate v0.001a - a bulletin-board forum for arguing about politics.

Watching it change directions a few times has been interesting, and I hope to see continued adoption in the blogosphere.

Making "intense debate" easier just means that the comments will become filled with noise, thus removing my motivation to spend the time to produce "signal."
