We'll KPMG had a few problems too, they just hung 4 guys out to dry. What was that? You left the tax money on the Isle of Man. How horrible.

LOL! So accountants are now requiring that venture funds use the 422/409a valuation as the valuation for their LPs? I was expecting this but didn't think it would come this soon. It is a quite obvious, logical, and appropriate approach--like requiring people to use the tax assessed value of their house when calculating their net worth.

I would say: "this might hurt, but it's good for you."

Brad, everyone once in a while you write something that really makes me smile. Whats really fun for us in China is watching an accounting firm try to reconcile within its own shop the GAAP and CAAP discrepancies that they helped create in some instances. Hysterical. Good/Bad news is it is so damn hard to go public these days that we don't have to worry about the constipation on that end of the circus.

You are not alone.

Well said - now come over to my place and run a search on KPMG. Try a search on ICAEW. Clicks the 'ethics' category. Take a look at Ken Frost.

Ron - there are lots of other choices - how about kicking off with BDO? At least they're trying. And they bought 9K licences of SugarCRM so they must have something going for them.

Oh yes - I am an accountant by trade.

Is there a new business paradigm in this dilema to provide a useful resource in accounting for small business? How about with the legal services as well? How many lawyers does one small business need? Corporate - Securities - Delaware Specialist - Tax
or is this just wishful thinking...?

<blockquote>cue "Imperial March"</blockquote>

Wouldn't the "Accountancy Shanty" be more appropriate? ;)

Why are entrepreneurs compelled at all to use the big four? Why should we even use big-four accounting firms? Are there really no other choices?
