This is very troubling indeed. There must be some kind of explanation for this very unreasonable move by the government.

You're trying to apply reason and logic to politics, a field completely devoid of both.

Well you now begin to appreciate what our arab friends are feeling over the DP world deal.

These are very concerning times no matter what viewpoint or religious disposition you subscribe to.

It would and should make a US-based startup think twice about doing business with the US government.

In this case, their skittishness probably comes from the fact that they (FBI, other TLAs) would have to divulge details of their infrastructure to an Israeli company to get the support they're paying for, for a set of products that are widely deployed.

I don't think it's as simple as paranoia about an Israeli company taking over an open source-based product. I still don't see how their imminent decision makes good sense, but I do see that it isn't that simple.

Incredible. This has got to make startup CEO's everywhere wonder if taking VC investment from American based funds makes sense. Or even "should this company be based outside of the US?". I'd bet it was something most US based startups didn't even consider, until now.

Well said Brad. I hope it is not so much as a Jewish-Israeli thing, as much as just a xenophobic against all foreigners thing. I think we are going to see consequences of this in the international community
