Pirillo vs. Ponzi

  • Comments (-)

On my run today, I listened to a hilarious podcast from Chris Pirillo and and his wife Ponzi.  The first fifteen minutes topped Jon Stewart on the hysterical meter as Chris makes every “husband mistake” in the book around cleaning dishes, cooking, and laundry.  Chris – two words passed down to me from my grandfather: “Yes Dear.”  And – do NOT criticize her cooking.  Finally, when she starts talking about her hair, don’t forget to say “Darling, it’s amazing – you’ve had two perfect haircuts in a row.”  Chris and Ponzi are clearly having fun – the subtext of it all is that she’s got him completely handled.

I’ve read many interesting/funny/enlightening entries, but this one was too much! I was squirming listening to him dig himself deeper and deeper! lol, why would I want to listen to conversations I’ve lived?

TOTALLY AGREE. I listened to the same Chris + Ponzi podcast on a train ride to Melbourne yesterday and he just DIDNT GET IT. Can I repeat he didnt GET IT. I was laughing so hard on the train when she is defining that he must do the dishes before the next meal, he (FATAL MISTAKE) says he is “TOO BUSY” and then she nails and closes her argument win when he says the “Dishwasher” will do the washing, and he just wants Ponzi to do the rinsing. So Ponzi replies, just what does Chris have to do ??? but Chris really has to learn about the real world of gender relations (also listen to their podcast a couple months ago bout hey they met on match.com – AMAZING ENDEARING PODCAST (great couple).. They also about a month ago they did a podcast “Chris and Ponzi Look for a House”… which is equally hilarious (he wants seattle suburbs so he can have a ‘work’ den, and she wants a urban post cobain warehouse seattle central !)..

(less interesting but will throw it in…) Podcasting is a niche audience, but now curry has sequioa / kleiner capital ($8.8M – i assume from a combination of brand, daily source code, ipodder lemon, ipodder directory, podshow etc)… where is the VC action in podcasting Brad ?

Okay, listening to some guy getting p/whipped is supposed to be amusing why exactly?

I’m already supersaturated with the “men are such idiots” message being programmed into the culture through advertising.

Gender bashing is tedious and dispiriting. And undermining and belittling the so-called love of your life for entertainment purposes? Yccccck.

Well, I guess what the more radical elements of Feminism started, the gay rights movement has managed to drive home. Now the super-sensitive wimpy guys who were signed, sealed and delivered by the women’s movement have now morphed into girly-men who don’t feel groomed unless their hair has been streaked and their eyebrows waxed.

    Oh, the ipod. Right. Tee-hee.

I play the role well, don’t I? :) VC action in podcasting would be wise; we’re already into the six figure range with TCPS.

Ooops. Sorry, Chris. (gulp) I was not keeping in mind that you were an actual, you know, real-time, real-life person and all.

Ok, you’re right. I guess I was being a bit satire-challenged. Please excuse the misdirected rant.

Seriously hilarious. Thanks for the chuckle. This satire really nails it (how relationships really work). My relationship is exactly the same – though I try not to abuse my power lol.
What's a little bickering and power-tripping between couples anyway? It doesn't mean you still don't love each other.
