I’ve always liked Pulp Fiction because (besides the style) it’s a movie about second chances… specifically what people do with their second chance.

I never realized before Pulp Fiction how much a gimp adds to a movie.
Anyway, I have watched it twice, but them somebody was telling me that Travolta and Jackson are angels and that the briefcase they carry is pandoras box, and there is this huge religious thing that I completely missed. Quite frankly I feel as though I have to watch it again and pay attention.

It seems like Quentin Tarantino movies elicit either/or strong views.

After so many good references to Quentin Tarantino movies by my friends, I decided to give them a try a few weeks ago with a few of my other friends that hadnt seen his movies. We watched Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill Vol 1. The response to both the movies were that of disppointment and disgust.

Disppoitment because, we were looking forward to watch good cinema and disgust because the violence was too direct, too
raw for our liking.

So I asked my friend who loves Quentin Tarantino movies, why he thought these movies were great. His only response was ” For the Style of it”.

Maybe, I am missing something here. Maybe I didnt notice something that Tarantino movie offers, beyond the violence . I hope to be educated about this someday.
