Kurt Vonnegut still rocks at 81

I don’t care whether you agree or disagree with Kurt Vonnegut – he’s still an amazing and provocative writer at age 81. His essay Cold Turkey was sent to me by one of my partners. He included a Bush Approval Rating Meter in his subtle email to me.

    What great writing. Too bad he is so bitter. I love this excerpt:

    “…thanks to TV and for the convenience of TV, you can only be one of two kinds of human beings, either a liberal or a conservative… If you aren?t one or the other, you might as well be a doughnut.”

    As I said to the friend who sent the speech to me: Vonnegut is a national treasure. Dave, I understand his bitterness.
