If you know Boston but don’t know New Orleans, boston.com has a superb graphic that is a mashup of New Orleans, Boston, and the area that was flooded. It’s an amazing perspective for anyone that knows the Boston area. The North End, Harvard Square, Brookline, Newton, Wellesley College, and Framingham are all under water. Shoppers World in Framingham is spared, but just barely.

Wow, that's the marathon route.
I imagine that reality would be very different though since the topography isn't the same. The devastation would still be bad nonetheless.
That's amazing. Living in San Francisco, I'd like to see the same for the Bay Area. I guess, I should just be happy with the Boston mashup.
Excellent reference. Thank you. I understand it is difficult to conceive the total devastation without actually visiting New Orleans, but for those of us who are more familiar with Boston than New Orleans, this helps put the impact in perspective.
